Nearly half of U.S. patients have now used an AI tool like ChatGPT to research or find a healthcare provider, up from under a third just nine months earlier (rater8, April 2026). The heaviest users are 45 to 60 -- the patients asking about implants, crowns and their kids' braces. Most practices don't check what the AI tells them.

In October, the San Jose Dental AI Visibility Study asked five of those AI tools the questions Santa Clara County patients actually ask, then fact-checked every answer about the practices they recommend most. This session covers how patients now find a dentist, what AI is telling them about practices in this county, and what to fix first.

Participants will:

See how patients use AI to find and vet a provider, and where it now sits next to Google, reviews and referrals.

Run a name check on their own practice across ChatGPT and Google, and read the answer the way a patient does.

See where AI's facts usually come from when they don't come from your website -- health directories, insurer lists, provider registrations and review aggregators -- and how to spot a conflicting record worth correcting.

Sort the fixes into what protects patients this week and what earns AI recommendations over time, and leave with a one-page checklist for the front desk.

Bring your office manager.
